Basic Requirements
Foster Care
You may be asked to provide temporary care, love, and nurturance to a child or serve as a mentor actively helping parents improve their ability to safely care for their children.

Single or married individuals

Must be 21 years of age

Have the ability to love, understand, and accept a child whom they did not give birth

Applicant and each household member 18 years or older must be willing to submit to a search of all Oklahoma Human Services child welfare history and criminal background records

Have sufficient income to meet household expenditures
-
Have sufficient bedroom and space to accommodate additional child/children
-
Be a legal resident
-
Willing to attend 27 hours of resource family training
